Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb
poppy seeds
- 4 cups
cooled boiled water
- sugar
to taste
Directions:
- Soak poppy
seeds in lukewarm water overnight.
- Pour off
water.
- Grind
poppy seeds through manual
meat grinder until a white, milky liquid runs out with the seeds.
You will need to pass the seeds through the grinder more than once.
- If you
don't have a manual meat grinder there are other options on how to grind
the seeds: blenders, food processors, mortar
and pestles. If you choose to use electric machinery you will need
to add some water to the seeds in order to grind them.
- Pour cooled
boiled water over "milk" and poppy seeds.
- Add sugar
to taste.
- Serve
over "slizikai"
