The Quince: A sour hard-fleshed fruit resembling a small yellow apple, grown in temperate climates. Excellent source of Vitamin C. Available in Asian food stores, farmer's markets, well-stocked supermarkets. The Tea: Cut fruit into small pieces (removing seeds), place in jar, cover with lots of sugar and let sit overnight in the refrigerator. Place tablespoon of fruit pieces with newly formed syrup in a mug and fill with boiling water. The Taste: A tart and sweet warm beverage. |
